Wilmore Granary Stabilization
Wilmore, Kentucky

Since 1914, the Glass Milling Company’s granary building has occupied a prominent location within Wilmore, Kentucky’s downtown landscape. Over the years, ownership changed hands periodically and the facility went in and out of use, suffering extensive neglect and damage along the way. The City of Wilmore hired Omni Architects was to assess the damage and oversee exterior envelope stabilization efforts, utilizing funding received from a Kentucky Community Development Block Grant.
The stabilization included a new EPDM roof, reconstruction of the clerestory, masonry tuck-pointing and repairs, and general cleaning efforts for both the interior and exterior – all of which adhered to the National Park Service’s Historic Preservation Standards and Guidelines. Through these efforts, the building will continue to play a part in the City’s story for many years to come.
