Kentucky State University is a public, comprehensive 1890 land-grant institution. The Land Grant Program works to uphold the mission of the University through its commitment to research, service, and teaching in the food and agricultural sciences.
This renovation will address major issues with the interior of the Atwood Agricultural Research Facility, which currently serves as the hub for KSU’s Land Grant's Community Research Service.
The renovation will address heating and cooling issues in the building, water damaged areas, mold contaminated areas, and increase office and laboratory capacity in the Atwood Research Facility for students, faculty, and staff members. Additional updates will include: additional office space for graduate students, faculty, and staff; a smart conference room, a common analytical laboratory, and a certified kitchen to allow the preparation of food samples for sensory evaluation. This renovation will provide energy efficient, innovative, and safe facilities to allow internationally recognized research efforts by faculty, staff, and students.
