JOE WILLIAMS, AIA CID
As a founding partner, Joe Williams served as Vice President and Director of Design at Omni Architects for 35 years. A graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Architecture, Joe was the leader of well over a hundred projects in diverse building types including secondary education, higher education, healthcare, religious facilities, multi-family housing, recreational facilities, and corporate/commercial facilities. He was also responsible for spearheading Omni's involvement in multiple design-build projects. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the UK College of Design Alumni Association, the Design-Build Institute of America, and Commerce Lexington.
Over the last three decades, Joe's steadfast leadership paired with his eternal and infectious optimism was a major contribution to Omni weathering many business storms including five major recessions, a devastating employee embezzlement, and significant technological changes in the design industry. In addition to his award-winning design projects, Joe's upbeat personality and reputation among Omni's clients for providing service above and beyond the standard was an invaluable asset to our firm.
Joe retired in 2011 and remains in an advisory role for firm leadership as a Principal Emeritus. He lives in Lexington with his wife and enjoys traveling, working in his yard, and spending time with his kids and grandkids.
