Eric Zabilka, AIA, has been named president of Omni Architects
Eric Zabilka, AIA, has been named president of Omni Architects, following the recent retirement of Michael Jacobs. Zabilka joined Omni Architects in 1997 and became a principal in the firm in 2007. He previously served as the firm's vice president. Zabilka's work elevates design awareness and cultivates an appreciation for architecture. His creativity, innovation, commitment to sustainable practices, and navigation of practice barriers advances the state of design for clients, communities, and peers. Zabilka plays an integral role in growing and fostering Omni's legacy as Kentucky’s preeminent design firm. Under Zabilka's design leadership, Omni Architects earned its second AIA Kentucky Distinguished Firm Award in 2008, becoming the first repeat winner in the award’s history. Zabilka played a key design role on seventeen of the twenty-nine design awards Omni Architects has received from AIA Kentucky to date.

Upon graduating from the University of Kansas, Zabilka returned to his native Kentucky to use his passion for design to elevate an appreciation for architecture and its valuable role in society. Eric’s projects vary in scale and typology, from new construction to renovation to historic preservation, and reside in small towns, on college campuses, and within urban contexts. Working within finite budgets, Eric employs innovative methods for using standard materials married with the disciplined use of order, form, proportion, and scale to create light-filled uplifting contemporary buildings and environments that stand apart from their peers.
